Tragedy by Gustav Klimt

This bookmark is drawn from the 1897 allegorical painting, Tragedy, by Austrian Master Gustav Klimt (1862-1918). Subtle hue variations from metal oxidation and a vague sense of movement in the surface engravings pull the attention magnetically and irresistibly to the Tragedy. It is an enigmatic and refined bookmark, marked by the unmistakable Viennese style.

This bookmark, made in 925/1000 silver, measures 200 x 48 mm (~7.9“ x 1.89“) and weights about 58 g (~2.05 oz). Since these objects are handmade, slight differences will occur from one piece to the next. Cut and engraved entirely by hand, finished with gold plating and chemical browning.
