Snowdrop Fairy

The snowdrop, also called “morningstar” is one of the first flowers to appear in the new year. It is a holy plant and it is symbolic in many religious and pagan celebrations. It is said that its white colour recalls the purity of a young goddess and also the milk that nourishes lambs. The flower was imported to England from the wild alpine parts of Italy by Queen Elisabeth.
