Bullfinch and Weeping Cherry Blossoms

Katsushika Hokusai’s acute spirit of observation (1760-1849) comes through this work that is a wealth of intricate detail and movement. We chose this work to portray in a bookmark so we could give homage to the artist and reinterpret it with the delicacy of our hand-cut silver.

This bookmark, made in 925/1000 silver, measures 200 x 47 mm (~7.9“ x 1.85“) and weights about 42 g (~1.48 oz). Since these objects are handmade, slight differences will occur from one piece to the next. Cut and engraved entirely by hand, finished with gold plating and chemical browning.
